What can we do to BE sustainable in our actions and how can we PROMOTE the idea and ATTITUDE of Sustainability?
We’ll start first with the PROMOTION of Sustainability.
If you are visiting this website and this “About” page, you are probably familiar with the meaning of sustainability, and maybe even consider yourself to act in a sustainable way. That’s nice, but how do we let the world know YOU have such a positive - life-affirming attitude? How do we let the world know that YOU are part of the SOLUTION - not the problem?
The answer: Share the 3-Finger “Peace-Plus-One” Sustainability Symbol with everyone you meet - instead of the out-dated two-finger “Victory” symbol, get with the 21st Century and show that you are fun, interesting and part of the solution to Global Warming, Cllimate Change, Pollution, Social disparity, Poverty and Economic opportunity.

HISTORY
The history of the Sustainability Symbol started with teaching Social Enterprise ant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to MBA students in Hong Kong. Philip McMaster, known to his students as Professor P, (some suggest it’s “Professor Planet”) was constantly illustrating successful, long-lived business models based on attention to the “Triple Bottom Line” - not just Economic responsibilities, but also responsibility for Society and the Environment.
The use of the 3 finger symbol was so successful, that Professor P and his students decided to bring it out of the academic halls of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and introduce it to the general population.
Although McMaster had already been using the three finger gesture among friends, in class and in the development of the McMaster Institute for Sustainable Development, the first “Public” speech and introduction was at the Envrionmental Awards Celebration of Environmental Protection Association of Hong Kong - February 1st, 2007

The story of Dragonpreneurship, and what it is to be a Dragonpreneur.
What is a Dragonpreneur?
The name Dragonpreneur was coined by Professor P a researcher/adventurer who has traveled the globe in search of solutions to poverty, ignorance, fear and war.
In China, Professor P noticed that for thousands of years the symbolism of the DRAGON has been used as a metaphor for power and responsibility in the face of change.
Teaching the priciples of ENTREPRENEURSHIP to management students at major universities in Canada and China, Professor P realized that the “modern” education systems in the world surpress creativity, innovation and the Entrepreneurial spirit, resulting in superficially-trained individuals lacking the strength of character, confidence and the skills to lead themselves, let alone lead others.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Identifying a market need, Professor Planet developed a unique system of experiential training, including classroom introduction, puzzles, mysterious ceremonies, special tasks and useful exercises. Each element of the program is sequenced and customized to the needs of the emerging Dragonpreneur.
THE FIVE TALONS (Belts)
Dragonpreneurs achieve their skills by completing tasks corresponding with the 5 talons of the Golden Dragon, understanding environmental, social and financial responsibility, releasing creative skills and encouraging innovative perceptions, and mastering true holistic leadership - becoming a voice for those who cannot speak, and understanding the principles of abundance and unlimited wealth creation for all.
The McMaster Institute for Sustainable Development in Commerce
Dragonpreneur is a program of The McMaster Institute you are welcome to support the non-profit efforts of the Institute by participating in programs, events, making donations and purchasing products at the store .
