Beijing China, the global hub of Sustainable Thinking on the 1st Anniversary
Beijing, China was the global hub of a network of celebrations for the 1 Year Anniversary of the Sustainability Symbol on February 1st, 2008.
Congratulations, greetings and well-wishers called, text’d and emailed from
around the world, notably Raymond Starren and friends in Holland called at 8pm Beijing time to wish us well, and congratulate everyone who has opted to share the 3 finger symbol with the world and work toward a sustainable future.
The 1st Anniversary Celebration was on Streaming Video, with people reporting that they could see us eating cake and drinking, but couldn’t hear our clever commentary and sharp wit as we reflected on the year past and mapped out the plans for the future of Sustainability. ( The computer and webcam can be seen on top of the white airconditioner as Philip receives the long distance greeting from Raymond in the photo above.)
A hearty thanks to Rex Chen of Chenduo Art Creations for making the 1st Anniversary Sign in Chinese, the large 3 finger poster, and the beautiful and delicious cake. The cake was so well done, that we cut it to avoid cutting any “fingers” right up to the last serving…
