Hong Kong WWF CEO Eric Bohm hosted a meaningful party to celebrate the first steps in raising the world’s consciousness to “Turn off the lights” and guide people toward thinking about reducing their energy consumption.
Laura Weeks, Director of Marketing and Fundraising for WWF Hong Kong and the original program manager for the first Earth Hour in Sydney Australia in 2007, created an exceptional event; in spite of the fact that the weather didn’t cooperate and cloud mist surrounded the venue.
But the children were the angels in the clouds, as they sang in the significant hour and delighted everyone in attendance.
Musical artists Chet Lam and Jun Kung entertained and encouraged everyone to be part of the solution.
Many other notable individuals lent their support to WWF Hong Kong, showing corporate, academic and civic support for this important initiative.
Thanks and congratulations to everyone who shared a meaningful experience and exchanges of the WWF’s “Power of One“, the classic Hong Kong “Peace” symbol and the combination of all three - the new “Peace Plus One” Sustainability Symbol.
Please visit the WWF Earth Hour organizers site at www.wwf.org.hk/ for more information on the results of Earth Hour in Hong Kong.
It’s nice to SEE* everyone working together, from different perspectives, sharing and balancing *Society, Environment, Economy each in their own way.
