With only weeks to go, the whole world must get behind each of our country representatives and negotiators and encourage them to do what is right, moral, and beneficial for each and every country existing together on this planet.
We must understand that we’re not playing “Survivor”… there’s no voting anyone off our planet.. everyone must sign on to this spaceship, cooperate and begin their LOHAS - there is no alternative, there is no “Planet B”.
Bill McKibbon’s wildly successful 350.org campaign, brought awareness to millions of bystanders as hundreds of thousands of us got together on October 24th to point out the significance of the number 350. Do you know what it means?
In China we used the 3 Finger Sustainability Symbol (and .50 of a thumb) chanting 350, 350, 350, as we rollerbladed and cycled through the streets. The effort was to bring the symbolism of 350 to a personal responsibility level, and with the added “Three Way Thinking” tool, giving us a template to make everyday decisions in a more balanced, harmonious and peaceful way.
…and this is just the beginning.
Soon the rest of the planet will have no choice but to WAKE UP! to what caring people through the ages have said: if we are to survive, we must live within our means, (the carrying capacity of the planet), focus on our inner peace and personal growth, and exercise our understanding of underlying connectedness of all things.
The “Peace Plus One - World Sustainability Project”
“Peace Plus One” is shorthand for the 3 Finger Sustainability Symbol - the three finger salute representing Peace, Harmony and Balance between SOCIETY, ENVIRONMENT and ECONOMY.
The “World Sustainability Project” is the project to share the Sustainability Symbol with the world.
How are we sharing?
First, we participate with all NGO’s, Government Organizations, Responsible Corporations, and Civil Society in every activity that is related to SOCIETY, ENVIRONMENT and ECONOMY - which means all human activities involved in work that maintains or improves sustainability.
We share our spirit, our energy, optimism and enthusiasm to illustrate that “We’re all in this together”, and sharing the simple but effective 3 Finger Sustainability Symbol unites us in our diverse approaches to solve sustainability problems. We encourage cooperation between the large multinational corporations and NGO’s, the large and small local companies and NGO’s, civic groups, institutions, events and governments. The idea is to move away from territoriality and competition amongst the aforementioned entities, and move toward a sustainable model of Peace, Harmony and Cooperative Balance.
… but we don’t only rely on the structures of others - we also create some of our own “custom” activities to focus on the gaps in the the delivery of a LOHAS lifestyle.
