In this important TED talk, Katherine Fulton describes a possible new future of philanthropy where collaboration and innovation allow regular people like us to do big things, even when money is scarce.
Watching this video, I can’t help but imagine she is talking about “Peace Plus One” and the human qualities embodied in the Sustainability Symbol.
Our efforts to create a simple tool where individuals not only consider how to help themselves make better, more sustainable every day decisions, but also decisions to give, share or help others achieve their goals and aspirations.
Even Katherine’s use of the Photo Image as a projection into the future of how you want to be remembered, ties-in beautifully with our “3 Fingers for Copenhagen” campaign - where each of us send our statement of desire to Copenhagen (for the Climate talks in December) and encourage our leaders and negotiators to INCLUDE the WHOLE WORLD and all its citizens in the deal to protect and conserve our planet.
This video has inspired me to think about the future of the effort I began a few years ago, and to stop struggling to support it out of my own pocket.
If our “Peace Plus One” World Sustainability Campaign has merit, then it should be supported by those who will benefit from its effect and ultimate success. I have been persistent in the face of significant difficulties and distractions over the years, and have shepherded and grown the effort to its present “cusp” — now is the time for others to step in and help me, financially, with services, designing, researching, travel and accommodation, secretarial and administrative, booking, publishing, merchandising etc. … clearing the way for our shared success or epic fail, whatever form it takes.
Katherine calls for a new generation of citizen leaders, let’s work together to provide at least one tool to help those leaders become global citizens and make better decisions that will affect us all.
If you want your grandchildren to look back a hundred years from now, and see that you were part of the solution at this critical time, not only by sharing the 3 Finger Sustainability Symbol in a photo and influencing your friends, associates and leaders, but by actively supporting and financially “backing” a meaningful effort that has already influenced thousands of new self-leaders… then please contact me and tell me what you want in return for your financial generosity -
