What Are 3 Finger Wednesdays?
Welcome to the Peace Plus One – World Sustainability Project.
My name is Philip McMaster, and I am the founder of the project and one of our programs called “3 Finger Wednesday“.
Why is it called “3 Finger Wednesday?”
Because, every Wednesday (which is called “3 Day” in China), everyone who supports the World Sustainability Project practices living a Lifestyle Of Health, Happiness And Sustainability (LOHHAS), for a better, happier world… we remind our ourselves and our friends to do 3 things:
SMILE ~ CHANGE ~ UNPLUG
Simple, isn’t it?
#1. … the first thing is SHARE A SMILE.
Behaviour Science and billions of personal experiences around the world have proven over and over again that SIMPLY SMILING (even if you don’t feel like it) makes you a HAPPIER PERSON, and MOST IMPORTANT - it makes OTHER people happy… which makes YOU happy too. Sweet!
#2 …. the second thing is MAKE A CHANGE.
Use Wednesday as your PERSONAL “DAY OF CHANGE”. Choose a bad habit and CHANGE it. Treat yourself better and become a positive influence on people and the World around you. For example, you could stop eating meat every Wednesday, or stop smoking every Wednesday, or only take public transit every Wednesday.
#3. … the third act is to UNPLUG YOUR STUFF & YOURSELF.
Stop wasting energy and money every Wednesday. UNPLUG YOUR STUFF especially un-used appliances, like TV’s, battery chargers, water coolers/heaters, everything except your refrigerator! …and UNPLUG YOURSELF from technology (for a least 3 HOURS in the evening) – that means TURN OFF the notifications on your social media, PUT AWAY your mobile phone, UNPLUG your computer… and LOOK UP and invest your time FACE TO FACE with your friends, family and maybe even meet some attractive new strangers!
That’s it.. just 3 things to begin living a Lifestyle Of Health, Happiness And Sustainability (LOHHAS), to stop being Part Of the Problem (POP) and become Part Of the Solution (POS).

3 FINGER WEDNESDAYS
The World Sustainability Project also includes recognizing every Wednesday as “3 Finger Wednesday” the day in the middle of the week, when we actively change our habits – review what we forgot to do, (or didn’t do sustainably), and plan to remember to act in a more sustainable manner until the next Wednesday. Through individual action, responsibility and constant self-improvement, we improve our lives, our community and our world.
On Wednesdays, you are asked to:
1. CHANGE YOUR IMAGE (SMILE)
2. (CHANGE) YOUR DIET
3. UNPLUG YOUR STUFF & YOURSELF
1.) CHANGE YOUR IMAGE. Live a Lifestyle of Health , Happiness And Sustainability (LOHHAS) for at least 24hrs. Change your profile photo in social media (Facebook, MSN, RenRen) to your “3 Finger Photo” EVERY WEDNESDAY.. first, it will remind you to act sustainably, and plus some of your online friends will wonder why the change (good reason to chat and share the meaning of 3 Fingers), and others will be reminded Wednesday is the day we make an extra effort to balance our decisions between Society, Environment and Economy and review their own participation in trying to make our lifestyles more sustainable.
2.) CHANGE YOUR DIET. Eat less or no meat for one day a week. Waste less and drink more water. Try a healthier, more sustainable diet at least on Wednesdays.. try different things, spice up your life.. who knows, maybe any weight, health or skin problems will disappear!
More information on why your eating choices make a difference for a sustainable world…
3.) UNPLUG YOUR STUFF & YOURSELF. Unplug unused appliances for at least 24hrs, save money and the planet. Shut off your mobile phone, the TV and computer for at least 3 hours, and have an uninterrupted face-to-face conversation with someone, take a walk or fix something that needs regular, proper maintenance, like you.
That’s it… that’s all you have to do on Wednesdays, just 1.) SMILE Face-to-Face with people to create a positive self-image, and click your computer mouse to change your virtual image! 2.) improve your physical image by CHANGING to healthier habits, and 3.) save money and the environment by wasting less water, unplugging unused appliances and energy vampires and giving yourself a break from impersonal technology.
No programs to download, no forms to fill, no expensive gyms, treatments or pills, it’s all free and guilt-free too!
Please tell the world in the reply box below, how YOU plan to share the 3 Fingers and 3 Finger Wednesdays with your friends and colleagues_\!/
